“I can’t seem to get anything done.”

“Deadlines keep piling up.”

“I feel like my life lacks task and purpose.”

No man [person] can think, feel, will, nor even dream, without everything being defined, conditioned, limited, directed by a goal which floats before him [them]. — Alfred Adler

Goal setting is one of the fundamentals of counseling. Whether your aim is to overcome, move past, or achieve, setting our sights on a goal gives us the strength to overcome adversity. Goal setting gives us the “Why are we doing this?” when we are trying to answer the “How will we do this?”

If you feel like you can’t set or maintain goals, our counselors can help you create ones that are tailored to your needs and your life. Working on oneself is a tremendous task and we are here to help you take the steps, big and small, that will set you forward on the path to the life you are seeking.

Goal setting can be helpful in dealing with numerous struggles including:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Eating disorders

  • Grief

  • Life transitions

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder

  • Relationship issues

  • Substance use
