“Why does my child seem so angry?”
“It seems like my child is trying to hurt my feelings.”
“It feels like my child tries to annoy others on purpose.”
If you have had any of these thoughts about your child, they may be struggling with Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). Kids that develop ODD typically start exhibiting symptoms before their teenage years, and it can be difficult and frustrating to cope with as a parent. You are not alone. The Momentum Team is ready to help guide you and your family through these symptoms.
There are several factors that our team members may take into consideration through the treatment process; the child's age, the severity of symptoms, and any other co-occurring disorders could influence treatment. The therapist will then help the client work through some of their specific symptoms. Interventions could include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychoeducation, Play Therapy, or several other modes of treatment, but it will be tailored to what the child responds to the best.
We can help if your child is experiencing the following symptoms:
Getting angry easily
Getting annoyed easily
Arguing with others often
Annoys/Upsets others on purpose
Shows vindictive behavior
