“I can’t stop worrying about everything.”

“Everyone leaves me.”

“No one understands what I’m going through.”

I see you, and I am so glad you’re here.

Life doesn’t stop for us, even in the midst of our greatest struggles. The difficult seasons have a way of feeling all-encompassing—and therapy is a space where you can take the time to process, explore, grow, and heal. I would be honored to hear your story and walk alongside you on this journey.

My Therapeutic Approach

I believe that you are the expert on your life, and my role is to listen to your story—illuminating the strengths you already possess. I value an individualized, person-centered approach, and I am dedicated to cultivating a warm, affirming space for reflection, goal-setting, and more. I draw from a variety of theoretical orientations, including psychodynamic, narrative, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

Ultimately, our time together will be based on you and your goals—which we can work together to identify. I want you to be you, and I value authentic connection in the therapeutic space. I am passionate about empowering clients by helping them gain a greater awareness and understanding of themselves and the patterns that play out in their lives.

To see if we are a good fit, you can email, call/text me, or fill out this form to schedule your free 15-minute phone consultation. I look forward to meeting you.

more About me:

Hi, I’m Maya! I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Counseling through Northwestern University. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and studied journalism with a minor in psychology at The University of Missouri. It was there that I became passionate about hearing other people’s stories—I believe we all can learn from one another’s perspectives and experiences.

I’m happiest when I’m deep in a great book, writing poetry, or enjoying a beautiful day skiing or hiking. I also enjoy improv classes, seeing live music, and exploring new places.

Education:

Master of Arts - Clinical Mental Health Counseling - Counselor in Training - The Family Institute at Northwestern University

Bachelor of Journalism - Magazine Writing - University of Missouri School of Journalism
